It was supposed to be a fun day at Othello's Hiawatha Elementary School, where the annual egg drop was taking place.  But as Avista employee Bob Smith was trying to bring down the boom bucket thate he and teacher Melissa Martinez were in, the supporting arm snapped, sending the bucket crashing to the ground.  Smith was killed in the crash, while Martinez was injured.  The accident has sent the school, and all of Othello, into shock.  KXLY4's Janet O reports.
