Spokane got high marks for hosting the 2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.  From the record attendance to FanFest, it was an event that was not only fan friendly, but skater friendly as well.  And the championships may come back sooner than later.  KXLY4's Allison Leep reports.

Downtown businesses thought that they were going to be overflowing with customers during the skating events, but that did not turn out to be the case. 

Officials from across the country not only had rave reviews for the venues, but for Spokane itself and the sheer amount of people in attendance will likely be remembered for years.

Fans had the chance to skate side by side with the champions kicking off the final day of FanFest. KXLY4's Kjerstin Ramsing reports.

The title were decided in Junior Men, Senior Pairs and Senior Ice Dancing at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.  Peggy Fleming talks with Allison Leep about what has happened so far and previews the Ladies and Men's Free Skate in this edition of After Hours.

The combonation of melted chocolate and soft peanut brittle equals a candy that has been a favorite of guests of the Davenport Hotel for many decades.  Bruttles is the official candy of the Davenport, the headquarters hotel of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and it is hard to turn down.  KXLY4's Kirk Hawkins reports.

As if the twists and jumps on the ice weren't spectacular enough, it's often what the figure skaters wear that's most eye-catching. Hours go into creating each costume making sure every sequin is sewn in the right place and a team always ready to tackle every tear or rip before the skaters head back out on the ice. Thursday was the day everyone has been waiting for; the first time the Senior Men and Ladies skated.  Analyst and Olympic Silver Medalist Peter Carruthers joined Allison to break down Thursday's competion.

All the big names in American figure skating were at the Davenport Hotel on Thursday night, as a big gala party was held.  It was sponsored by Tom Collins, who operates Champions on Ice.  KXLY4's John Langeler reports.

John Bevan may be one of the most important people at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.  He's a skate sharpener, needed by many at the competition.  He's in a room 100 feet from the Spokane Arena ice, but his skills are vital to the succes of the competitors.  KXLY4's Kirk Hawkins reports.

Skating pairs spend a lot of time together to get their moves right on the ice. But one thing you can't practice is chemistry. One pair of ice skaters was going to give up the sport because neither could find the perfect partner. That is until they found each other. KXLY4's Janet O reports.
