The crash of a Whidbey Island-based EA-6B Monday was not the first time a military aircraft has gone down in Eastern Washington. There have been several other crashes over the years, including the loss of a B-52 at Fairchild Air Force Base in 1994 and the 1998 crash of a Fairchild KC-135 during a NATO training mission in Europe.
